Frozen yogurt: 2 yogurt ice cream recipes

Frozen yogurt, how to prepare it at home, without an ice cream maker? Today it is full of recipes of “instant” frozen yogurt, which is prepared by freezing whole yogurt in ice trays, and then blending it in a blender with a little honey or fruit to have instant yogurt ice cream, but if we want to prepare it instead and freeze it?

Here the matter becomes more complicated, because to have an ice cream consistency, beautiful creamy , it is necessary to use an ice cream maker, or use some tricks to have the same consistency. Here are two frozen yogurt recipes that are a good compromise: the preparation in both cases can be placed in the freezer, and kept there without the ice cream crystallizing or hardening too much.

FROZEN YOGURT, THE RECIPE WITHOUT ICE CREAM: ALWAYS SUCCESS

  • Mango flavor, for 4 servings

85 grams of whole natural Greek yogurt (type Fage 5%)
    Two tablespoons of honey
2 ripe mangoes, peeled and chopped (about 300 grams of fruit). As an alternative to mango same weight of yellow peach without peel.
A pinch of cinnamon or cardamom or ginger powder
    1 pinch of salt
    half a bag of vanillin
    a tablespoon of smooth vodka
Procedure: clean the mangoes and cut them into pieces, put them in a bag to freeze them and keep them in the freezer for 6 hours. Put the mango pieces in the blender along with the other ingredients. Transfer the mixture to a half-liter bowl and keep in the freezer. When you want to serve this ice cream, keep it outside for 5 minutes before making the bowls.

  • Banana flavor, for 4 servings

250 grams of natural skimmed Greek yogurt (type Fage 0%)
2 medium ripened bananas, mashed (about 220 grams)
    2 teaspoons of honey
    a pinch of salt
    1 tablespoon of lemon juice
    a tablespoon of limoncello
    The procedure is simpler .
In this case, blend all the ingredients and put the mixture in the freezer.
In both cases, the use of creamy fruit and a little alcohol plus a little sugar allow a result very similar to real ice cream, and we can keep it in the freezer without it freezing. The amount of alcohol is minimal considering the final portion.
The calories per serving are about 130 for both recipes!
