Does spinach save you from junk food?
I have good news and bad news: the good news is that according to Lund University , a Swedish university, spinach would promote weight loss , which is true. For various reasons. First of all because they are green leafy vegetables, with fibers that are easily assimilated by the body, they have a high satiating power and few calories. Plus, their essentially sweet flavor makes them preferable to a salad. Finally, they are a good source of calcium and iron. As a young girl I lost 25 kilos and it goes down thanks to spinach : I ate everything, I was an obese girl (eighty kilos at ten are no joke), and my mother offered me a kilo of spinach per meal to satiate me. It worked.I used to eat up to two kilos of spinach a day almost unseasoned, with two eggs, some natural tuna or chicken and a half sandwich. A limited breakfast, fruit between meals and voila the diet. Eating too much spinach, for almost a year, by the pounds at lunch and dinner didn’t make me sick from spinach. So I agree with the research and I can testify that spinach is a key food for weight loss and satiety: both raw with a drizzle of olive oil and boiled with a knob of butter and ten grams of Parmesan. Unlike lettuce, spinach is versatile. There is a but.
Research Says Spinach Takes Away From Craving For Junk Food:I love these considerations on the sidelines of much of the research I read, because they are all pseudo-logical. There is NOTHING that can take you away from junk food. For example, I am attracted to sweets : yesterday I went to a place for an appointment, and it was a pastry café with an exhibition of about three hundred mignons and a tall, layered carrot cake that according to the owner was the end of the world. I run away, make my rounds and go for a quick coffee in another bar , specializing in croissants and croissants, which bakes at all hours of the day and night. If you didn’t tell me every time “come on, you’re thin, you can afford a sweet” I wouldn’t be thin .If I didn’t limit my cheats to once a week , dreaming of them at night, I wouldn’t be thin. I love vegetables, but let’s stop thinking that steak and salad will neutralize my craving for sweets or the sugar and fat combinations called comfort food . Our body loves junk food: it has to survive, and it doesn’t give a damn about our eating plans. Our body aims to pack fat stores and aims for sugar. There will be no spinach to stand up to instinct. The only thing you need is to have motivation.
