Do you want to diet? You need to know these things first

If you have decided to go on a diet to lose weight, I would like you to stop for a moment, breathe and, instead of being caught up in the frenzy of searching the internet for any menu or any diet on the fly, you knew (and inquired) about these things. These are things that will not only help you choose wisely and winning the slimming regimen that’s right for you , but they are the things I have to repeat every time someone asks me for advice on a diet to follow that is right for them. These are essential things: if you don’t know them, it’s like going to the dealer to choose the car without having a driving license. Here they are:

1) If you have any particular medical conditions , you should contact a dietician or your doctor to have an effective weight loss program, which takes into account your health
2) If you want to lose weight, make sure BEFORE have had blood tests recently and have no particular nutritional deficiencies: you may not know, but nutritional deficiencies can cause you to be overweight.
3) Before going on a diet, buy a good multivitamin and multimineral and take it for a couple of weeks: check if there have been any changes in weight. 4) Before going on a diet, ask yourself how sedentary you are

and start finding a fun activity that helps you burn some calories in your spare time. Reducing a sedentary lifestyle is the first thing to do.
5) Before going on a diet, especially if you have already tried many without success, be smart, and look for a sustainable, not drastic, food plan. The normal desirable weight loss per week is half a kilo. You can undoubtedly lose more weight in two cases: you are severely overweight and you have never been on a diet in your life; you are also losing water and lean mass (typical situation from drastic regimes).
6) Before going on a diet, ask yourself: am I willing to follow a weight loss regimen for months, sweat in the gym, review my eating and living habits?If the answer is no, don’t even try. Do not try a magic diet for a week or two, because the weight will then regain it.
7) Before doing the diet, remember that:
– calories exist and whoever tells you no is in bad faith
– the more calories you cut, the lower your metabolism
– the macronutrients are: carbohydrates, proteins and fats. If you remove one of these (carbohydrate-free, fat-free, protein-free diet) you lose weight faster due to different mechanisms, but you can face health problems. Choose a balanced regimen.
– localized weight loss does not exist or almost, apart from the scalpel
8) Before doing the diet, you must know your total daily calorie requirement and know that you can reduce a maximum of 500 daily calories from it(maximum, typically twenty percent of the calories is the optimal deficit to dispose of the flab without stress). Read here how to calculate it.
