CrossFit and Nutrition: The perfect combination

CrossFit and Nutrition. The perfect combination to make our life better.

Losing weight thanks to functional training and proper nutrition has never been easier.

Follow this great article to learn the whole truth about CrossFit.

CrossFit or the progenitor of functional training.

But what does this sport do?

CrossFit seeks to adapt and develop exercises that allow people to perform the activities of daily living more easily.

It sounds crazy but that’s it!

CrossFit is for anyone of any age. In fact I will tell you more. No one could benefit more than an older person.

In the context of body building, functional training mainly includes weight-bearing activities targeting the core muscles of the abdomen and lower back. Most gyms have a variety of weight training machines that target and isolate specific muscles. Consequently, the movements do not necessarily have any relation to the movements that people make in their normal everyday activities.

CrossFit, thanks to its “workout of the day” type of training, basically aims to make us become the best version of ourselves. Here is the secret of the success of this great sport. The mission is to help improve our physical shape and then use it during everyday life.

There are currently few companies in Italy that seriously talk about CrossFit in depth. I had the opportunity to read  the CrossFit guide  of My Cross Life, a reference portal in Italy that deals exclusively with spreading the philosophy of CrossFit at 360 degrees.

CrossFit and Nutrition: The perfect combination

When we talk about CrossFit we are referring to one of the safest and most successful paths in the world to achieve perfect physical fitness. But adopting a high-intensity fitness regimen is only part of the complex equation that will lead us to lose weight. The most important part of this equation is diet. Exactly. You lose weight and increase your muscles starting right from the table.

Given the intensity of CrossFit workouts, one of the essential components of a good CrossFit diet is protein. Protein stabilizes blood sugar, provides energy and fuel for workouts. Every CrossFitters should aim to get about one gram of protein per kilogram of weight, so for example a woman weighing 65 kg should get at least 65 grams of protein and so on.

And beyond the protein rule, there are other important foods that are important to think about. When it comes to improving the success of your CrossFit journey, your efforts will never be enough. CrossFit is often associated with the Paleo diet but this diet is not always applicable especially due to the controversy over the use of carbohydrates.

There are some nutritional elements that should never be missing from the CrossFitter’s diet.

Lentils

CrossFitters need to keep their protein intake around 30% of their daily calories – and lentils add a great chunk to your meals, with lots of fiber.

Protein and fruit smoothie

Post Workout it is necessary to feed and optimize recovery by replenishing glycogen stores and proteins for tissue repair. Your body craves both fast-absorbing carbohydrates, such as those from fruits and berries, and easy-to-absorb proteins such as whey.

Nuts and seeds

Nuts and seeds are packed with nutrients and omega-3 fatty acids, which will fuel your healing after an intense WOD.Since nuts and seeds are calorie dense, they are a great protein snack without sacrificing taste.

Sweet potatoes

Your body needs functional carbohydrates for increased energy. Glycogen is stored in the muscles (and liver) through the digestion of carbohydrates, and your body relies on muscle glycogen for energy to carry you through training. One of the best ways to fuel this requirement is with sweet potatoes. as they are slow-release complex carbohydrates and therefore will support you during your workout

Peanut butter and banana

This nutritious snack gives an unparalleled advantage to CrossFit athletes. If you do CrossFit, your perfect snack will have to be a blend of carbohydrates, protein, and a limited amount of healthy fats. In this case, the banana is the master, as it is an excellent source of potassium, necessary to help the heart and skeletal muscles to flex and contract during training. Peanut butter then gives the right source of nutrients and energy.

CrossFit bans “and with good reason” all overly processed foods. So always pay a lot of attention to too refined packaged foods and their cooking.

CrossFit is intense training, which requires optimal nutrition to fuel it. Fried foods are nutritionally empty and high in saturated fats and unhealthy fats which deplete energy levels and leave you sluggish and are the foods that make you age faster.

As you could have read in this article. CrossFit is one of the high intensity sports that, when ” combined with a healthy and balanced diet “, offer the highest percentage of success in the world. If your desire is to get back in shape and give your life a definitive change of pace, CrossFit is for you. Choose one of the many official affiliated boxes in Italy and start your wellness adventure. You will not be disappointed. You will meet a community made up of wonderful people with the only desire to improve their everyday life.

Then don’t delay. A fit life awaits you. It takes very little. We promise you won’t regret it.
