Are you looking for a cheap and reliable bluetooth speaker? Let’s find out if the new Creative MUVO Play can turn out to be the best choice for you. What we have tested this time is a very particular product, the son of the very reliable Singapore brand and which promises a quality in step with the times, but above all a lightness and comfort that today are essential to face the daily routine. Here is our analysis!
The product is sold in a small and light white box, which contains the instruction booklet, the warranty, the USB charging cable, a strap for transport and finally the speaker packed in the plastic bag. The product can be found in three different colors, black, blue and orange.
MUVO Play is truly beautiful to the eye and to the touch, with the imperious creative symbol at the top. Its shape wants to guarantee better and well-distributed bass, and on the side there are the power and audio adjustment buttons and the sockets. You do not need anything else to be able to use and make the most of all the potential of this interesting speaker.
Thanks to its small size design it makes it one of the cheapest products and suitable for long journeys. The weight of only 360 grams , it is perfect to be carried in any bag or to be hung on the luggage (thanks to the strap that we find supplied).
The speakers covered in sturdy and resistant fabric, make us understand that the audio can expand almost 360 ° . The shape is sober, clean and very simple, with a metal frame with rubber ends, it is enriched by the tactile controls positioned on one side, which include the power button which also functions as an LED indicator. Red when charging, blinking blue when pairing, and solid blue when powered on and working.
The charging port offers high speed and synchronization, and together with the AUX port they are intelligently located under a detachable panel that ensures their waterproofness, while also offering the MUVO Play a clean and homogeneous aesthetic.
For the economic price proposed, the technical specifications of the new Creative MUVO Play are really excellent:

Small and multifunctional
Considering the price, the Muvo Play does everything you can expect from a Bluetooth 5.0 speaker . The device is very easy to configure, has simple and intuitive controls with a remarkable portability. Even novice users will be able to hold down the power button to start searching for devices. The Muvo Play also starts with a voice guide and sound effects, which are not the best, but which can be easily deactivated by holding down both volume buttons at the same time.
Among the features that make it a really good product, there is water resistance. Thanks to the IPX7 degree of protection , the Muvo Play can be immersed in up to one meter of water for up to thirty minutes. The only flaw is that, although the device continues to work great after immersing it, the body and its materials are not easy to dry, and remain damp for a long time.
The Muvo Play has been designed to be easily paired with other devices to offer users a stereo speaker setup. If you buy two devices, both will be able to transmit the same track thanks to Bluetooth 5.0 , which also allows for faster performance and a more stable signal. Creative claims that Muvo Play will continue to work even at a distance of 10 meters and all in all we can tell you that indeed it is. The AUX port also guarantees (to ensure no problems whatsoever) a wired connection, therefore reliable and stable.
Another positive note of the Muvo Play is the drums. We tried to make the most of this device, to see if Creative’s 10 hours at medium volume were real, and after a test carried out the data obtained was convincing. Charging also takes place with USB-C , although it only supports 5W inputs, so the long life is counterbalanced by a long charging period. So if you have to make long journeys, we advise you to dose the power of the volume, so as to take advantage of the 10 hours of music all in one breath away from a recharge.
One last negative is Creative ‘s associated mobile application , which only works with their high-end products. It would have been perfect to be able to modify some parameters of the device to your liking, which instead are destined to remain so.
We talked to you about design, technical performance and finally it’s time to talk about the most important quality for a speaker: sound. Considering the affordable price of the device, we can guarantee you that Muvo Play offers excellent sound quality. Thanks to two 5W full range drivers, voices are clear, high volumes are handled well, as well as space filling thanks to the almost 360-degree diffusion.
We are certainly not talking about the best portable speaker on the market, but listening to various musical genres, passing from the more classic Ludovico Einaudi , to the high notes of Greta Van Fleet , we noticed that the audio has adapted decently with the latest ones and much better with the first. Obviously given the frequency of 70Hz – 20kHz the device will not be able to go down to lower tones than this.
Most likely to make the audio smoother and in some cases better, it would be ideal to pair two Muvo Play , although clearly not the cheapest choice.
Muvo Play is one of the cheapest and smallest devices around. The price imposed by Creative , which sells it to end consumers through its website, is £ 34.99 (about 40 euros). A truly affordable price for everyone.
Thanks to its features and quality, the Muvo Play fits into the low-medium market range of audio speakers, and can be an excellent compromise for those looking for something useful and not expensive to always carry with them.
