Christmas sweets, how many calories do they have? And how to burn them?
How many calories do Christmas sweets have? And how to burn this extra calorie?
First, why, you may ask, is it so important to know how much calories are in Christmas sweets?
Because Christmas is a sweet and alcoholic holiday in most cases.
And because Christmas sweets are usually very high in calories. And, after meals that include several courses, they are definitely the coup de grace to our line.
They aggravate the glycemic load of lunches and dinners, are dense in both sugar and fat and definitely raise the bar of our caloric surplus.
That’s why it’s good to get an idea of how much caloric they are and how much you can eat, but that’s not all.
On page two I will give you some practical and easy tips to make Christmas sweets less heavy for our line.
CHRISTMAS SWEETS, HOW MANY CALORIES DO THEY HAVE?
-
Pandoro and panettone (classic)
The pandoro, without the icing sugar, has about 400 calories per 100 grams (more or less one eighth of the whole pandoro), the panettone about 360 (same portion).
Both sweets have a high fat content. -
Pandoro and panettone (stuffed)
The stuffed pandoro has more or less the same calories as the classic variant, while the stuffed panettone has on average about thirty calories more. You will wonder why.
This is because the calories of the filling reduce the volume of the dough, which is caloric in itself. For example, a cream pandoro will have 30% cream which replaces 30% of pandoro by weight: the cream is less caloric than pandoro. Even adding a chocolate glaze, you get the same calories as the classic pandoro. It is the nutritional values that change: they generally have more sugars.
Attention:
* even if we deal with Christmas sweets, I must warn you that the “gastronomic” or salty panettone has the same calories as the classic pandoro, and is not a lean version of panettone, on the contrary.
**pandoro and panettone filled by you obviously are not like the commercial ones. If you add Nutella and cream to 100 grams of pandoro or panettone, reaching 500 calories per serving is child’s play. -
Panforte.
Panforte has about 400 calories per 100 grams, but being rich in almonds and therefore compact and heavy, it is easy to eat more than you think. 50 grams is about one fifth of the package.
