Fructose is bad for teenagers
Too much fructose would be bad for adolescents : according to research, in fact, a diet with a high consumption of fructose would cause adolescent states of anxiety and emotional ups and downs very similar to depressive states. Now you will all ask yourselves: what does it mean, that we must not give fruit to the boys?
No, obviously we are not talking about the fructose naturally contained in fruit, but about the hidden fructose, which, like other hidden sugars, is found in snacks, sugary drinks and fruit juices, biscuits and jams ” with the natural sugar of the fruit “, and even salty foods that are made more palatable with the addition of fructose and salt. Fructose is often added via fructose syrup, syrup, or grape juice.
In particular, fructose syrup, which for us may seem like a strange ingredient or never heard before , is widely used in the food industry: we find it in sauces and in all those baked goods where we find the word “corn syrup”. It is a syrup with a high fructose content, present in all sweets, some puddings and yoghurt, in biscuits and snacks to a large extent, in breakfast cereals, even in savory snacks: a real fructose poisoning that affects especially adolescents and children, who are particularly sensitive to the side effects of a high fructose diet: and therefore irritable, tending to become hyper-aggressive, to have anxious and depressive behaviors. This is what a study (in reality it is not the first) declared by Emory University in Atlanta that was discussed in the last congress of the Society for Neuroscience . Parents are on their guard!
