Burn fat with leptin
I have already written about leptin , one of the hormones that regulates the sense of hunger and therefore our metabolism, helping us to burn storage fats: after writing about it, articles on hormones that regulate hunger and appetite have also spread in Italy and in particular much has been written about leptin.
Before introducing this hormone better, I want to make a clarification: leptin is undoubtedly important, but the hormones that regulate our sense of satiety and hunger are not only leptin for the first and ghrelin for the second. There are other factors that send appetite-regulating signals to the brain, for example the PYY peptide, secreted by the pancreas. Or insulin, another very important hormone.
And when we think of metabolism, my advice is not to try to understand too much the mechanisms that regulate it , because they are not linear as it would seem when reading some articles: thousands of different elements come into play, all called into question to create a balance energy, so in theory when we get fat we should be less hungry, when we lose weight we should have more. In theory.
But let’s get back to leptin. Some call it a fat burning hormone. The reason is simple. Leptin is a hormone produced by fat cells. As these grow, that is, we gain weight, more leptin is produced. Which in response to the accumulation of body fat, sends a signal that should theoretically sound loud and clear to our brains:stop eating! Stop the phone calls. No signs of hunger, please. We have sufficient reserves. Still, people continue to gain weight, and this stop sign often goes unnoticed. How is it possible? On purpose I told you that the speech is not linear: there are various types of interference that cause the body to become resistant to the leptin mechanism.
Today I will explain, thanks to this article written by a dietitian and clinical nutritionist, how to make our body more sensitive to leptin, and therefore be able to naturally eat less (eye, naturally full) and burn reserve fat. That is, try to push our body towards a natural, and not imposed, weight loss. (CONTINUED ON PAGE TWO)
