An easy diet to follow? It’s called “Sense”
Are you looking for an easy diet to follow? There is a Danish nutritionist who has developed one that she considers “the simplest diet in the world”: easy to control portions without weighing food, it is a food approach that allows you to eat without even counting calories. It is called the ” Scandi Sense Diet” or “Sense diet”, and it is an intuitive diet that nutritionist Suzy Wengel would have developed for herself, losing the beauty of over 40 kilos in ten months with her method. The nutritionist said she was looking for an easy-to-follow diet after gaining extra weight with two pregnancies in a row, losing weight in less than a year and never regaining those extra pounds after six years.
But what are the principles of the Sense Diet?
This diet revolves around the number 4 . Each meal must have a handful of carbohydrates (by hand we mean the amount of food that can be weighed raw in our hand held “like a spoon”), a handful of proteins, two handfuls of vegetables and the equivalent of a spoon of oil or butter as fat.
Carbohydrates include : fruit (for example for breakfast), a small sandwich, a small potato or other starchy tuber, rice, pasta or cereals, legumes, but also a glass of wine every now and then.
In proteins: eggs that can fit in a spoon hand (complete with shell), meat or fish or tofu or tempeh or seitan.
In fats: from spoon to three teaspoons of oil or butter or about 25-30 grams (a small piece) of a very fatty cheese or nuts / seeds or very dark chocolate.
Foods should be considered raw and not cooked. The jars, for example of products such as Greek yogurt, must always fit easily in our spoon hand. For women this will correspond to a small jar.
Here is an example of this easy to follow diet.
Breakfast : a handful of red fruits (1), a two-egg omelette (1) with a spoonful of butter, a centrifuged fennel (1) and cucumbers (1).
Lunch: a small wholemeal sandwich (1), pepper and endive salad (1 + 1), chicken or lentils (1), a tablespoon of oil.
Dinner: salmon (1), steamed spinach and asparagus (1 + 1), a spoonful of butter, a glass of wine or a fruit or a small potato (1).
There are NO snacks in the Sensi Diet, Wegel explains that you have to focus on the 3 main meals, and for convenience, apart from tea, coffee or a glass of wine or fruit juice without sugar (both correspond to a quota of carbohydrates), other drinks and all types are avoided. of added sugar, while sweetener such as stevia is allowed.
