6 things to do if the craving for sweet assaults you
In English it is called “sugar binge”, and it is the kind of binge that happens to those who want sweet, and ends up eating a whole packet of biscuits, half a jar of Nutella or a kilo of ice cream without realizing it.
Craving for dessert does not mean craving for sugar or sugar addiction
Generally, it is necessary to distinguish between those who rarely feel this desire for sweet, and therefore indulge in an occasional binge, perhaps linked to particular moments such as a party, and those who, on the other hand, almost every day or several times a week end up eating too many sweets. In this case we are talking about sugar addiction, but the term is incorrect.
If it were “sugar addiction”, sufferers should prefer sugar above all else, which is to eat sugar by the spoonfuls all the time. This, on the other hand, practically never happens.
In fact, what we define as a desire for sweet is not simply a desire for sugar. There are hundreds of scientific studies on this: the taste that we interpret as sweet is actually the result of a mix of fats, complex carbohydrates and sugar plus additives and salt. Therefore it is more correct to speak of a desire for sweet, where by dessert we often mean a packaged or pastry dessert, which meets these criteria and has these ingredients.
In fact, those who crave sweets can also binge on light and protein sweets or sweets with sweeteners.
The sweet taste is also not the sweet taste . Taste and flavor are not exactly synonymous.
