Would karkadè or hibiscus tea make you lose weight?
Who has ever tried it? The karkadè, a reddish herbal tea obtained from the infusion of hibiscus flowers, with a fragrant and slightly acidic taste, according to new research would make you lose weight, thanks to the properties of the petals of hibiscus flowers. In animals that ate hibiscus flowers, a group of researchers noted that they tended to be leaner, have lower blood sugar and a healthier liver, despite the high-fat, high-calorie diet they were subjected to. The study, which appeared in the Food & Function journal, is clear:would be the petals of hibiscus flowers, which we can take through the infusion of flowers, the famous karkadè, to be an excellent adjuvant for weight loss. So if we are on a diet, drinking karkadè could help us reduce the absorption of fats and sugars, stimulating weight loss
.
But where can we find the karkadè? Once very popular (as a girl I was crazy about it), karkadè follows a bit of trends, but has recently returned to the market in the form of herbal tea, often combined with spices and herbs.
From the bio you can easily find the following combinations, or at least in herbal medicine: Karkadè Ibisco by Emporio Ecologico or Yogi Tea blends based on Hibiscus and Gingeror Cranberries and Hibiscus. But even the classic infusion of only hibiscus flowers is easy to find, even if not in the local supermarket. When to take it? We can take karkadè in mid-morning and in the afternoon, because it helps digestive processes, contains anthocyanins (such as acai berries and some red fruits), or particular antioxidant substances, strengthens the immune system and … now that we know that it also makes you lose weight, but who stops us anymore?
