WhatsApp update: how to do it and direct link
In this guide we see how to update WhatsApp based on your model.
Let’s take an example: it doesn’t matter if you update WhatsApp on iPhone 8, 9, 10 or later. Both phones have the same operating system – in this case iOS – and the way to update the application to the latest version available is the same. The procedure does not depend on the model of the phone, but varies according to the operating system.
Another example: the WhatsApp update for Android is done the same way on both Samsung Galaxy S and Huawei p30, as well as almost any other not too dated device that works with the operating system created by Google.
Good! Let us now move on to the heart of the solution.

Tips for updating WhatsApp
WhatsApp updates are 100% recommended , because, as with the other applications of our phones, these updates do nothing but try to correct the errors that may present the old versions and further improve the service of new functions or renewed interfaces.
For this reason , it is a good habit to update WhatsApp when it is reported to us through a notification or access the various official sites of the various versions (which you can find above on this page) and check that you have the latest version available on your phone.
Automatic WhatsApp updates
If you want to always have the latest version of WhatsApp on your operating system, but you don’t want to update the application manually every time, you can find the ” Update automatically ” option in the settings menu of your phone’s App Store , so that make everything automatic. The only drawback of this operation is the impossibility of checking when the update will be downloaded, a very useful practice if, for example, we want to do it from a Wi-Fi connection so as not to waste the phone’s data traffic (and do not use our Giga for operations that we can do from home).
However, if we decide to activate this option, remember that all the other applications you have on your phone will also automatically update.
Disable automatic updates
Another drawback of the automatic update can arise when we travel abroad, where the costs of connecting to the Internet are much higher. It is therefore useful to disable all automatic updates.
To disable automatic updates on Android :
- Access Google Play and in the applications section click on the three dots on the left in the top bar, which will open a menu.
- At this point go to Settings -> Automatic update and disable.
For automatic updates on iPhone :
- Open Settings from the Apple Store menu
- Go to Automatic Downloads -> Updates
- Disable the option.
This way automatic updates will no longer be active.
