WhatsApp, notifications also arrive on the PC
WhatsApp continues its incessant evolution to offer its users an increasingly complete and efficient service. The latest news concerns WhatsApp Web , the version for pc and mac that allows you to send and receive messages and files directly from your computer.
From now on, WhatsApp users can activate desktop notifications and be notified when a message is received.
Activate WhatsApp pc notifications
To activate the notifications, just follow the indication that the same app provides when you try to synchronize your phone with WhatsApp Web via Qr code (if you want to know more, find out the details of WhatsApp Web ). Notifications are only available on Google Chrome browser. By clicking on “activate desktop notifications”, in fact, all you will do is activate an extension for Google Chrome that allows you to receive notifications.
Users can manually activate or deactivate the option by going to the settings menu and then under “Notifications”.
An interesting novelty that WhatsApp makes available, but there is another extension – called WAToolkit – that allows you to do even more. With this alternative extension it is possible to receive WhatsApp notifications even when the WhatsApp tab is closed or Chrome is not running. A useful feature to stay in touch without having to keep WhatsApp open in your browser all the time.

The WhatsApp Web virus
If on the one hand WhatsApp is evolving, on the other it shows its first security problems . In fact, in recent days a virus has been reported which, through the WhatsApp version for PC, enters the victim’s computer and comes into possession of his personal data.
The news spread shortly after the launch of the version of WhatsApp for PC for iOS , which also allowed those who own an iPhone to synchronize their phone with the PC and send and receive messages via desktop.
The WhatsApp technicians immediately intervened and ensured that their developers handled the matter professionally. They also said their software vendors and service providers have been acting in accordance with security best practices. But experts still recommend updating the app and clearing the browser cache to avoid nasty surprises.
