WhatsApp: how to write in bold, italic and strikethrough
On WhatsApp it is possible to format the text and insert characters in bold, italics or strikethrough . The bold, italic and strikethrough function is available to all WhatsApp users starting from April 1st 2016. Thanks to the possibility to modify the text, the messages have a new form that better suits the needs of digital communication and its users.
As we normally do with text editors like Word, we can now “play” with words to give chats a different look.
This choice is certainly in line with Whatspp’s alleged desire to increasingly orient itself towards the world of business and business, and on the other hand it will not displease all those users who love to send phrases on WhatsApp , such as those found on this site.
How to write bold, italic and strikethrough on WhatsApp?
To use bold, italics or strikethrough on WhatsApp you must first update the application .
If after updating the application you are still unable to use this new feature, wait a few days and try again. WhatsApp is gradually releasing the update for the different operating systems (IOS of iPhone, Android, Windows Phone, etc.).
Or, if you don’t want to wait, you can start using WhatsApp as a beta developer.

To use bold type , insert an asterisk (*) before and after the word or words you want to highlight.
Eg * word to highlight * -> word to highlight
To use italics , insert an underscore (_) before and after the word or words you want to highlight.
Eg _word to highlight_ -> word to highlight
To cross out a word , enter the tilde (~)

It is also possible to use two or more formats together and write, for example, both bold and italics.
