WhatsApp, blue ticks but previous access? Here because
In this post we examine a particular case concerning WhatsApp messages, double ticks and the time of the last access. I decided to write this explanation after the many requests for clarification received via email from readers. The fundamental question is this: how is it possible that a contact I write to often has my messages read but the last access turns out to be first ? Why does the double blue check not coincide with the time of the last access on WhatsApp?
It may seem strange, but there is an explanation. In fact, we would expect that the time of the last access coincides with the moment the message is read, and therefore with the double blue ticks that appear under the message text.
This is true for the majority of cases, but there are exceptions.
Why do I see the blue ticks but the previous login?
There is a logical explanation to describe this phenomenon.
The time of the last access indicates the moment in which the person was on WhatsApp with the active data connection (or Wi-Fi).
The double blue check (or double check ) indicates when the message was read by the recipient, whether it was online or offline.
Suppose we send a message that is regularly delivered. The person who receives it, before opening it, deactivates the data connection . Then he opens WhatsApp and reads the message. Finally, exit WhatsApp and reactivate the data connection.
This procedure, if used voluntarily, is nothing more than one of the tricks to be invisible on WhatsApp . You disconnect the connection and read the message. Sometimes, however, it can also happen that there is no network and the phone “does not pick up”.
In both cases, if we go to see the time of the last access, it will correspond to the last time he opened WhatsApp before deactivating the data connection. But the message will have a double blue check, because it was actually read, even if the person was offline.
Here is the mystery: the last access and the confirmation of reading (blue ticks) are two different things and are not always connected to each other.
There are also three other cases of discrepancy between last access and blue ticks
The first concerns the time zone set on the phone. If you use WhatsApp on a phone with a different time zone from that of the recipient, it may happen that the last access is prior to double ticks.
The second case concerns the possibility of sending messages even without a connection. Find all the details in this article on sending WhatsApp messages in offline mode .
Or ( thirdly ) the cause of the discrepancy is due to an application error. A good precaution is to update regularly to make it easier to correct any errors. If it doesn’t happen often, this could be the reason. Just wait, and everything returns to normal.
