WhatsApp, a hidden function to discover true friends

A new WhatsApp feature allows users to keep an eye on the amount of data they consume with the application (really useful for those with a limited traffic data plan). But there is more. Thanks to this option it is possible to discover some interesting information on the type of use we make of the application (and one more reason not to leave the phone in the hands of “onlookers”).

We are talking about the ” archive use ” function , with which it is possible to know how many messages we have sent to a single contact, how many images, videos, locations and contacts. All personal information that we can retrieve with two simple clicks.

Find out who your real friends are on WhatsApp

This new feature is hidden under the insignificant title “Archive use”. In fact, it’s a veritable well of information on everything we’ve done with WhatsApp.

By clicking the buttons below, you can choose whether to sort the contacts according to the number of messages sent or the size in Kb. Usually, in both cases you will find the same person in the first place. As well as, more or less, in the other top positions.

What do these mean? Well, whoever is in the lead is most likely your best friend (or your partner / partner) and following the ranking it is easy to find some sort of degree of your friendships.

Of course, this all depends on how much we use WhatsApp and does not take into account other instant messaging applications we use on our phone. No scientific law, therefore, but a fun idea to make two “accounts”.

How to open the data screen

If you are curious to find out the numbers of your Whatsappian life, all you have to do is go to WhatsApp, and go to Settings -> Accounts -> Archive usage .

Unfortunately or fortunately for some, the update was currently only released for iOS users , in early summer, relegating to Android users the ability to only see the total number of messages sent and data usage ( lucky them). And for you all the others? Panic begins.
