What are the carbohydrates for weight loss according to Chris Sandel

Whenever we talk about proper nutrition, we address the question of carbohydrates and which carbohydrates are for weight loss. Wholemeal, refined? Whole carbohydrates are the best weight loss solution for many, but not for everyone. This is because for some of us they are difficult to digest, and do more harm than good: some nutritionists and metabolism experts, such as Stephane Guyenet, in fact, argue that whole grains and legumes must be “treated” before consumption.(soaking them, making them sprout, in some cases even fermenting them as the Orientals do with soy), otherwise the antinutrient substances they contain make digestion difficult and prevent us from absorbing micronutrients. Result? We eat a wholemeal that we actually do not tolerate.

Personally, since I have sprouted pseudocereals and small legumes (lentils), intestinal swelling is just a memory . But this means arming oneself with holy patience. Some fanatics of healthy eating, and even some doctors, argue instead that wholemeal flours are always to be avoided, at least those on the market, while instead “treating” the cereals until they sprout, dry them in the oven and reduce them into flour in a homemade way it is the best way to get a truly nutritious food .

Okay, what if we don’t have all this time? How to regulate? What carbohydrates for weight loss could we choose?
If we don’t have time and wholemeal is annoying us, eating durum wheat pasta and going back to white rice won’t hurt us, especially if we review the portions and the frequency. Choosing quality pasta and not eating it every day can be an effective way to stay healthy without necessarily eating whole.
Additionally, whole grains provide omega6 fatty acids, which if taken in the right ratio with omega3 are good fats for our health (the ratio is 3.1), but if we do not eat fish frequently (chia seeds, flax seeds or walnuts contain both) they increase the risk of overweight, diseases cardiovascular, excess estrogen, inflammatory state. So if we eat wholemeal, we should absolutely avoid eating in abundance even oil seeds and dried fruit or season everything with vegetable oils rich in omega6 . As you can see, it is much more complicated than saying “yes to wholemeal, no to refined”.

So, even if at first glance it seems incredibly easy to determine which carbohydrates are for weight loss , as I have shown you the answer may not be the best for us.
