Vegan protein shake: two recipes!
The vegan protein shake without the use of vegan protein powders (rice, pea, combined, etc.) is always difficult to obtain: the combination of foods such as peanuts or almonds, dried figs, coconut, avocado or bananas, makes the vegan protein shake very dense in calories compared to a low protein content (6 to 9 grams per serving). For heaven’s sake, it’s nutritious, but it doesn’t work for its purpose, which is to be protein and not be more caloric than a meal. Not to mention the cost: often the massive use of foods that can only be found in organic products makes the smoothie also not very convenient.
For this reason, a good vegan protein shake is unlikely to have protein powder. Rice proteins are quite affordable, so I recommend those who exercise and are vegans to buy them. But let’s see a vegan protein shake recipe without protein powder and one with protein powder . Calories are under 300 per serving (two glasses: very satiating), proteins as much as 25 grams per serving on average.
VEGAN PROTEIN SMOKE WITHOUT PP
Vanilla and coffee smoothie
10 gr of chia seeds
100 gr of boiled lupins, previously peeled and kept in peeled water for 4-5 hours
200 ml of Provamel vanilla soy milk
a small cup of coffee
200 ml of water
3-4 ice cubes
a pinch of stevia or sweetener to taste (also good erythrol)
Drain the peeled lupins, rub them vigorously under water (I recommend this operation) and put them in the blender with the stevia, chia seeds and coffee. Chop the mixture well, adding the soy milk slowly until a fairly velvety cream is obtained. Add water and ice only at this point and blend at maximum speed. The result is a satiating, creamy protein shake that with 280 calories provides you with a whopping 25 grams of protein. Adding 100g of ripe banana + another 100ml of water to obtain a protein shake that is excellent as a substitute meal, with 350 calories and over 26 grams of protein (in this case, exclude coffee) but hypersatiating!
VEGAN PROTEIN SMOKE WITH PROTEIN POWDER
Cocoa smoothie
20 gr of cocoa powderÂ
100 ml of Soya Natural soy milk from Provamel
one scoop (30 gr) of rice protein powder
200 ml of water
cinnamon
sweetener to taste
There is no need for a blender here, just a shaker. However, by blending the mixture with 3-4 ice cubes you have the frothy milkshake effect. The calories are 260 and the proteins rise to 28.8 grams.
