Think Skinny For Weight Loss: The Beck diet solution

iStock_000018477651XSmallWell no, I’m not talking about Raffaele Morelli’s book, which I have also talked about here. I’m talking about another book (I don’t want Morelli), which I first heard about on the Oprah Winfrey show, and which is called The Beck diet Solution . Written by Dr. Beck , the book teaches us to break free from the vicious cycle of diets that leads us to have a misleading and malevolent relationship with food. We start thinking about food every day, we develop a kind of addiction, in which the more we try to have control over our hunger, for example by counting calories, eliminating these or those foods, the more we feel bad, we digest worse, we begin to have cravings absurd and irrepressible food, and we no longer eat, practically never, with the same lightheartedness as in the past.
What happens to naturally thin people instead? They eat much more than we do, they also digest stones, but they do not constantly think about food and only realize they are hungry when their stomach rumbles. We consider them people kissed by luck, thinking that it is only and exclusively a genetic fact: they were born thin, we have to fight. Stop. What if NOT? What if it’s NOT true?

In this book, Dr. Beck, a psychotherapist, addresses at least a couple of important topics. I don’t recommend the whole book, but here are some ways to think like a thin person and improve your relationship with food accordingly.
THINK LEAN TO LOSE STRATEGIES
1) Do not demonize foods, stop thinking that certain foods are forbidden to you and she begins to believe that she can eat everything (and do it).
2) Focus on nutrition, not the calories of food: a salad and a pound of salmon are not the same thing. And salmon can’t be mistaken for chicken to save calories. Your mistake is this. 3) Eat

until you’re full and tease something nutritious whenever you’re hungry . A raw carrot, an apple. The first few times you will feel like you are eating all the time and you will feel guilty, then this anxiety to fill you will leave you week after week.
4) What is food for you? It should only be food, that is, nourishment. Write in a piece of paper what it represents most of the time.
5) Why do you want to lose weight? Write on a piece of paper the reasons why you are hoping for a healthy weight and if there have been any people who have pointed out to you that you are fat.
6) Try to live the food you put on your plate in a happy and non-punitive way.Become a greedy person, and treat yourself well, focusing everything on very nutritious and varied foods. With each bite you have to think that you are eating something that is good for you, that is feeding you.
7) Try to have positive thoughts about your body, be patient, just don’t pretend. Think of yourself as a thin person and behave accordingly: much freer to go out and interact with others, go to eat anywhere, be more casual and free even in movements. You are trying to do something for yourself and that should make you happy. You are trying to eat well, and that should make you happy. You think about your health, and this is the most important thing.
