The weight loss scheme of the Whole 30 diet

I have spoken on two different occasions about the Whole 30 diet, a kind of paleo regimen that in about thirty days allows you to lose up to ten kilos: but many readers have asked me if it was possible to have a precise scheme of the diet.

The Whole 30 diet, in fact, is the classic ad libitum regime .
By eliminating the main forms of complex carbohydrates such as bread, pasta, rice and legumes, in fact, it allows you to lose weight with a substantially low-carbohydrate and natural diet, which is why it is not necessary to count calories and you can eat your fill.

Obviously, however, since among the foods allowed there are foods dense in calories such as walnuts, if you are not careful and do not follow a precise weight loss scheme, the risk is not to lose weight, or even to take it.

For this reason, the official website of the Whole 30  expressly states that it is not allowed to cook elaborate meals with the foods allowed, but that the key to the regime is simplicity.

THE RULES OF THE WHOLE 30

  • Foods that cannot be eaten. 

    Legumes or soy products, dairy products and cheeses, cereals and products from cereals, no type of sugar or sweetener (not even zero-calorie, such as stevia, or natural, such as honey: here is the big difference with the Paleo diet ) and no alcohol, not even for the kitchen.
    Cold cuts are not allowed, but meat and fish of all types that are not prepared but are fresh and preferably not reared.
    This also makes you understand that, in the classic sense, the Whole 30 diet is not suitable for vegetarians or vegans, since the only plant-based foods allowed are fruits, vegetables and oil seeds. Therefore the scheme is too restrictive given that both legumes, cereals and tofu are prohibited. For those who are vegan, I recommend the Pegan diet.

  • Meals must be very simple and clean: steamed, grilled, baked in foil.
