The OMG diet: crash diet for weight loss
Oh my god … how much weight I have lost!
This is what lies behind the acronym of the OMG diet, or the Oh My God Diet, one of the diets that go crazy a season, fill the pages of women’s magazines and then go into oblivion.
However, if you belong to that category of people who search the internet for some diet to quickly dispose of a size, well, then you have surely heard of it.
OMG DIET: THE DRASTIC DIET FOR SLIMMING
The OMG diet was created by a personal trainer who signs himself as Venice Fulton, actually the invented name of coach Paul Khanna (pictured). Fulton wrote us a best-seller, or “ Six weeks to Omg ”. The subtitle of the book is interesting: he gets thinner than all your friends.
In practice, there is no fixed menu of this diet, however a series of rules must be observed which according to the author of the book ensure immediate and very rapid weight loss in six weeks.
OMG DIET: THE RULES
- We skip breakfast . According to Fulton, having breakfast is useless: if you slept the night before, when did you run out of calories from your dinner?
- In the morning it is necessary to do physical activity on an empty stomach for half an hour. As soon as you wake up.
- After physical activity, a nice cold shower for a quarter of an hour , to stimulate the body to burn more calories with thermogenesis, or in the effort to return to its body temperature.
- Only after three hours of physical activity, you can finally eat in the morning.
- You need to drink a lot of coffee to stimulate the metabolism.
The first on an empty stomach, the second after physical exercise, the third with a “delayed” breakfast, plus optionally one after each meal and one in the afternoon. - In your free time it is recommended to chew ice and hear, blow up balloons. Two activities that push the body to burn more calories.
- You only eat 3 meals a day following a basic pattern.Breakfast (after three hours of physical activity in the morning): natural low-fat yogurt or two eggs + almonds or walnuts (4-5).
Lunch: lean meat of your choice or egg whites omelette, vegetables, a little oil, a 25 g slice of toasted wholemeal bread, coffee.
Dinner : lean fish or legumes boiled alone, vegetables, a little oil, coffee.Allowed vinegar, lemon juice, spices, herbs, and a small fruit a day for example with breakfast, without exceeding 100 grams. In total, in fact, no more than 120 net grams of carbohydrates per day should be exceeded. So no added sugars, yes to the sweetener. The quantities are free.
And here is the question? But you, dear D., have you ever tried it? Oh my god , of course not!
The diet has in fact raised a lot of criticism. Not only is it drastic, but it risks putting a strain on the metabolism, causing a state of metabolic efficiency. This means that after the diet the body will be more inclined to save energy rather than burn it. For this reason, I don’t recommend it.
