The new pill that will make women lose weight
A new plant compound, extracted from a primrose tree that grows in South and Central America, could be the definitive solution against the extra pounds that afflict women : the compound, in a study conducted on mice, has increased metabolism of female mice, who lost twenty to thirty percent of their weight regardless of how much they ate. The same compound did not make male mice lose weight: is this a discovery that will only benefit the female sex?
This is what scientists of the Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta say, who have created in the laboratory a compound that acts like a flavonoid contained in the primrose tree: the compound is called 7,8-dihydroxyflavone and acts as a powerful fat burner, just like hours of high-intensity exercise in the gym.
It trains and nourishes lean mass , prompting the body to build muscle and burn excess fat and boost metabolism. On the male species, however, it did not produce any results. At the moment, following the success of animal testing, 7,8-dihydroxyflavone is about to be tested on men and women in several trials in both China and Australia. If these trials had the same success rates as the one with mice, the compound would be marketed . We are therefore talking about a weight loss pill which, however, was chemically created in the laboratory: which means waiting at least a couple of years before it is declared safe and is marketed. However, the same scientists at the head of the discovery are trying to create a natural compound for a 100% safe dietary supplement , which being natural could be marketed in a much shorter time.
