The low-calorie diet and 3 other mistakes that make you fat

If the calorie restricted diet really works, why do people get fat? If obesity is now considered not only a disease, but even an epidemic disease, why have we not yet found a “cure” for this disease?

In short, are there things we do to lose weight that paradoxically are making us fat? And why?
In this article we try to understand this phenomenon. And that is, if it is possible to talk about mistakes that make you fat even when in theory, under particular conditions, they should, on the contrary, make us lose weight.

Low calorie diet and other mistakes that make you fat

Low-calorie diet: when is it likely to make you fat?

Let’s face the first case, that of a low-calorie diet.
It is not difficult to count calories or more or less know how to regulate with foods on the basis of their caloric “importance”. So why do people on a thousand calorie diet write to me saying they don’t lose weight? From a scientific point of view, in fact, this thing appears as a paradox: established that the diets with calorie reduction or the system of reducing calories (called CICO) is the only non-surgical intervention on the person that works to lose weight, because do you risk gaining weight?

Let’s go back to what I wrote above: the error occurs not for choosing a tool that is correct, such as the low-calorie diet. But for the conditions under which we apply it to us.
If I do a low calorie diet, then I don’t follow the maintenance or stop the diet, it is logical that I will gain weight. And I will gain more weight than when I started it.

But also: if the diet is too drastic for my needs. For example, some may be on a 1200 calorie diet, others, if they work standing all day, will have a greater metabolic slowdown on that diet.
In any case, if we lose weight, our metabolism slows down.

However, it is up to us to prevent it from slowing down too much, so as to worsen the quality of our life and exhaust us.
Another strategic mistake: always staying on a diet. A diet must have a beginning and an end, but its end cannot coincide with the beginning of a new diet.
