The fasting-mimicking diet: the scheme of Dr. Longo’s Fast Mimicking Diet
Following the report of a well-known television program (Le Iene) which interviewed Dr. Valter Longo on the thesis that an excess of protein would be associated with a greater risk of neoplasms due to the stimulation of growth hormone, many people have written in the Dcomedieta mail, all asking me the same thing. The fasting-mimicking diet!
Where can I find Dr. Longo’s Fast Mimicking Diet kit?
And what exactly is it about?
I have already talked about it in this article , which I recommend you read, but I repeat some concepts here.
The Fast Mimicking Diet kit is a 5-day fasting-mimicking diet kit, produced by ProLon of L-Nutra, the company of Dr. Longo himself (which, however, does not make a profit on the thing, in the sense that it is written on the site but he also reiterated that he had given his shares to charity).
Dr. Longo suggests following this fasting-mimicking diet protocol first once a month, and then once a month (every 3-4 months).
It should have been distributed in drugstores, but there is an MA as big as a house. It is not yet sold and distributed in Italy (I explain on page two how to receive it), but above all, it cannot be done without the supervision of your doctor. For the protocol to be effective, before doing the fasting-mimicking diet, blood tests must be carried out and the patient’s needs taken into account.
On page two I give you a scheme of the diet which is purely illustrative, that is, it allows you to have an idea of what is contained in the kit or how to do it without the kit, at the level of nutritional principles. Anyone wishing to do it without a kit must be good and experienced.
DIY is highly discouraged. Currently a “do-it-yourself” experiment has been conducted by Damien Blenkinsop, a wellness expert and health coach, known for his website The Quantified Body. As you can see in the linked article, Damien monitored his health by taking exams before and after the treatment. Same thing done by another blogger.
