Given the enormous success obtained by  Strappare Lungo i Bordi , the new animated series by Zerocalcare on Netflix,  we have decided to offer you some of the comics to read by the same author , where it stands out for its humor and simplicity. His works have had an incredible success in terms of readers both in Italy and internationally, which led him to get to animation on the streaming giant.
The recent success of the Netflix series, which beat  Squid Game and  Narcos: Mexico ,  is due in part precisely to the type of dialectic used by the author, who prefers to be very sincere in his stories, going from heart and sentiment. His entire career consists of 12 volumes, to which a 13th volume will soon be added, due out on November 25th.
The artist began his career by publishing first on his personal website ,  to then arrive at the release of entire volumes , which very quickly sold more copies than initially imagined. The first of these comics to read, if you liked  Strappare Lungo i Bordi , is La profezia dell’armadillo , one of her best-known works of hers, which also received a transposition to actors in 2018.
This first work of his sees the introduction of Armadillo,  one of the author’s most famous characters, which is a representation of his fears and insecurities , along with his conscience. A sort of Jiminy Cricket but instead of advising and helping the author, it highlights the lazy and hasty character of the cartoonist.
Then follows  Un octopus in the throat , a volume in which  the author deals with three periods of his life , namely the age of elementary school, that of high school and finally adult life, with imaginary characters accompanying him. Every cursed Monday out of two is instead a collection of all his works, enclosed in a single volume to which an unpublished story is added.
Twelve , a clear reference to the American TV series  24 ,  tells the adventures and misadventures of the author and his friends during a zombie apocalypse , which leads them to have to quickly leave the Roman neighborhood of Rebibbia. Shaken by the death of his grandmother, a central figure for the same author, Zerocalcare then decides to write  Forget My Name , a story in which three generations intertwine: his, his mother’s and his grandmother’s.
The telephone book of the welcome is a work , like  Every cursed Monday on two ,  which collects the stories published on the blog in the previous two years , with an unpublished story of forty-two pages. More different in themes but always true to itself is  Kobane Calling , a reportage in graphic form of his journey between Syria and Turkey. In 2020 a second version came out,  Kobane Calling. Today , in which he tells the differences a few years later.
Taking as a starting point the marriage of Cinghiale, a friend of his,  Zerocalcare gives life to  Macerie prime , a story that tells the failure of the generation of the ’80s, which he himself defines as a pile of rubble. The work also has a second volume , with the unmistakable title of  Rubble prime – Six months later , which expands and concludes the considerations begun.
The school of pizzas in the face of Professor Calcare is a volume  that collects the stories published from 10 May 2015 and 22 February 2019  on the blog, sites, newspapers or collaborations with other authors. Skeleton is a 2020 graphic novel, which tells a story related to university, or rather not to attend it.
To father dead. A Christmas story is  a very special vision of the famous holiday , in which Santa Claus himself dies and creates many problems for the family business, especially after his son takes over. Finally , Niente di nuovo on the Rebibbia front is forthcoming , the last work in which the author opens up both from the point of view of foreign policy and animation on Netflix.
Finally, special mention for  Subatomic Education , a story created for the Institute of Structure of Matter of the CNR, in collaboration with the Elettra Sincrotrone Trieste Research Center , within a branch dedicated to science. Slightly different from previous works but perfectly maintains the spirit that characterized it.
