Sweets for breakfast, here’s what to eat
In the morning it is normal to get up with a craving for sugar , and even those who want to stay in perfect physical shape find themselves having to deal with the craving for sweet. Breakfast is the ideal time to exploit this desire for sweet to our advantage : those who eat a good breakfast tend to burn more than those who skip it, and arrive at the next meal with less hunger. But how can we make sure that eating sweets for breakfast does not make us fat but actually allows us to speed up our metabolism by burning more?
The supermarket doesn’t help us:Â cereal bars and breakfast cereals are a sugar bomb.
It is very easy to combine a diet breakfast that is also sweet and satisfying. Just remember to combine these three resources together: a protein resource, a fat resource, and a carbohydrate resource (or a balanced food that contains both). Combining these resources will have the advantage of lowering the glycemic load of the meal, and making us spend a few more calories on digestion.
The protein resource can be a glass of soy milk, a low-fat yogurt, an egg, some spreadable cheese such as ricotta; the fat resource can be hazelnut cream or peanut butter, traditional butter, oilseeds and chopped nuts in a mix, the carbohydrate resource can be wholemeal bread or wholemeal biscuits without sugar, jam, whole grains, fruit or juice. If we want, we can combine all of these things together with sweets for breakfast that contain proteins, fats and carbohydrates.
DESSERTS FOR BREAKFAST: EXAMPLES
– A cup of coffee with milk and a slice of apple pie with wholemeal flour and yogurt / castagnaccio or farinata with ricotta and jam / chocolate cake made with eggs, butter and dark chocolate / a slice of fruit tart;
– Tea or coffee and a plate of three pancakes, peanut butter and blueberries plus a low-fat yogurt
– Milk soup with skim milk and sugar-free wholemeal shortbread, made with fructose or stevia, wholemeal flour, eggs and butter.
– A smoothie with a banana, soy or almond milk, bitter cocoa and stevia with a spoonful of almond and nut mix.
– Tea or coffee with a glass of soy milk and a Nutella crepe.
– Tea or coffee and a slice of tiramisu made with pavesini, coffee sweetened with stevia, ricotta cream and Greek yogurt, bitter cocoa.
– Tea or coffee and a panna cotta or cream pudding, two or three wholemeal shortbreads.
