Survive Christmas with Sara Farnetti’s 6 food tips
I’ll be back to talk about the nutritionist and internist Sara Farnetti, who recently appeared on TV and in magazines to provide her food advice for Christmas: because, let’s face it, even if we want to take a break from healthy eating and healthy habits, even if we want to “do harm” with nougat and panettone, we can very well avoid a few things.
Eating just for the sake of starting to nibble, turning off the brain and postponing any caution, or continuing to eat even when the belly is pressing, do not seem synonymous with “break from healthy eating”, but ways to harm yourself. And these dietary tips from Dr. Farnetti seem excellent without being impossible or invasive, but just an invitation to choose better and moderate without giving up.
Let’s see some of them together. For the full article, I refer you to the doctor’s page .
6 FOOD TIPS TO AVOID HURT BETWEEN CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEAR’S EVE
WHAT TO DO BEFORE CHRISTMAS
Eat only one carbohydrate per meal: if we have opted for pasta, we don’t eat bread, for example. Fruit in moderation should be eaten between meals, or after a protein meal, to avoid insulin peaks.
We reduce portions below 100 grams for carbohydrates and proteins per meal. 200 gr for fruit and vegetables.
We start the day with water acidulated with lemon juice.
We dress only with extra virgin olive oil, limiting ourselves to one tablespoon per meal.
WHAT TO DO DURING THE HOLIDAYS
Cinnamon tea in the evening, purifying artichoke tea after meals, to help the liver, intestines, metabolism.
We eat Christmas sweets for breakfast, instead of eating them after a meal: in this way we will avoid a high glycemic load.
As a snack we prefer almonds, olives or pinzimonio. Stay away from dehydrated fruit, baked goods, especially between 23 and 26, when Christmas sweets aggravate our daily consumption of carbohydrates.
