Summer, the mistakes to lose weight NOT to do
Today I thought I’d describe to you something that happened to me last week, at a summer picnic, to tell you about the mistakes we make to lose weight especially during the summer, to see ourselves thinner, more attractive and so on. I was with friends when a guy I don’t know was talking to a mutual friend about the fact that he had been fasting for over 24 hours to lose weight.
I asked him what diet he was doing exactly, if the Warrior Diet and whatnot, and the guy replied: I’m doing everything. That is: he was fasting, and at the same time when he ate, after a day in which he did not touch anything and in which he exercised, he ate only proteins, and in addition he took a fat burner, and in addition he worked out. He was going to do this for ten days, go all out to lose weight before the holidays.
I asked him what he would do after these ten days of torture. His answer was: I didn’t think about it, the important thing is to achieve results.
Well: this thing is a mega bullshit, but it is one of the most frequent mistakes to lose weight. We think about the immediate, and then we’ll see. Worse, you try all out.
Maybe during the year we made some mild attempts to lose weight, but already with spring we saw certain aesthetic flaws, as if during the autumn and winter we had never seen each other naked.
At that point, the desperate enterprise is tried. Without a plan. The result is that you regain weight, especially if after a week or two of dieting you no longer know how to continue.
So let’s see, summarizing, what are the most common mistakes to lose weight in the summer
– I sweat in the gym (or while I go for a run), so I lose weight: sweating does not lose fat. Fluids are lost. And mineral salts. Which are often not replenished. Causing swelling and water retention.
– I do a crash diet for a week, then what happens happens: what do you want to happen? Not the next week, but the next month you gain weight.
–I eat until August, then in September diet and gym: although it’s not smart to procrastinate, it’s okay to do it too, as long as you don’t think of diet and gym as a sentence to serve: they are not, so it makes no sense to gorge yourself like turkeys , worsen the situation. It is one thing to live life intensely, enjoying the pleasures of good food: another is to end up victims of the dichotomy “today I can, tomorrow not, then today I will eat twice as much”, which deprives us of the taste and flavor of food.
