Slimming smoothies? Try this ingredient

cinnamon-smoothieAccording to Shape magazine , we’d lose three times as much weight if we added a scoop of whey protein to our smoothies (if we’re smoothie types, of course). Since many use smoothies for weight loss, especially when combined with physical activity or in the morning, the ideal smoothie according to research published in the  Journal of the American College of Nutrition  is the one that contains whey protein among its ingredients . I am not very much in favor of protein powders: I explain why in this article. However, a scoop of protein powder has the power to balance a smoothie such as fruit only with a consistent protein intake, while still raising insulin. If you are a fanatic of smoothies (I know people who love them), I would like to suggest these indications:
– instead of whey proteins , you could try brown rice proteins . You can find them online on sites like GoNutrition and MyProtein. At that point in the smoothie just add half a banana, a green leafy vegetable of your choice (the flavor is usually covered by fruit: if you don’t like it, try raw fennel, celery or cucumbers), blueberries or berries, a handful of almonds, cinnamon and goat’s milk or even better yogurt (to fill the poverty of amino acids) to have an excellent dietary food with a modest calorie intake, useful for not raising insulin and providing us with everything we need to prevent our weight loss diet makes us lose lean mass.

– if you are instead inclined to buy whey,I advise you not to combine them with a smoothie that already contains cow’s milk: it would be better to have a plant-based milk without sugar and a choice of low-sugar fruit, such as only blueberries, accompanied by a good percentage of fat to ward off the insulin danger: a scoop of whey plus a glass of soy milk plus a pound of blueberries and half an avocado is a great way to boost your metabolism and push weight loss towards fat mass ! Last tip: buy neutral whey, absolutely avoiding the sweetened ones.
