Seven ways to lose weight that make you fat instead
Let’s go back to the nutritionist Catherine Crow, who in her splendid blog Butter nutrition reveals seven ways to lose weight that instead only work on the first term , but otherwise make us fat. According to Catherine, the key to everything lies in the fact that these methods do not work because they do not aim at a balanced and balanced nutrition, but on the contrary they tend to deprive our body of something: calories, or some macronutrients (fats or carbohydrates in general). Let’s see in particular these seven ways to lose weight that we believe to be right but which turn into fatal mistakes to lose weight.
SEVEN WAYS TO LOSE WEIGHT THAT BUT MAKES YOU FAT
1) You are looking for a simple trick to lose weight: Unfortunately, every trick, from a quick diet to cutting out a category of foods to lose weight faster, results in failure most of the time. The body ends up rebelling against our strategies and generally “repairs” our mistakes by making us accumulate weight. So no quick diets and no supplements, pills or drinks or calorie restrictions. We don’t have to lose weight to be healthy, but be healthy to lose weight, explains Catherine.
3) You are not eating enough protein : proteins are essential to avoid metabolic stall, because in the right amount they help the liver detoxify, promote muscle recovery and nourish lean mass thanks to amino acids. If you don’t eat enough protein, your metabolism goes haywire.
4) You said goodbye to simple and complex sugars: the body metabolizes sugars as the first source of energy. It is possible to fall back on fat, but a long-term diet based on fat instead of sugar causes damage to the thyroid gland and ends up damaging the metabolism anyway. This is why it is essential to always have a diet with carbohydrates (which can then be low glycemic indexes or with the exclusion of some cereals or grains) to avoid gaining weight.
5) You are on a low-calorie and restrictive diet: eating few calories is not a trick that works forever. We end up getting hungry all the time, engaging in unsatisfactory regimes and eating more or being perfectly correct but not losing weight. This is why it is best to give the body what it needs with a natural and satisfying diet. According to Catherine, every deficit turns into extra pounds.
6) You’re cutting fat: Cutting fat is a big (and fat) mistake. The metabolism goes to a halt, the body deprives itself of fat-soluble vitamins. Why do so much damage?
7) Don’t drink extra liters and quarrels of water:drinking water makes you lose weight, but you shouldn’t drink too much. Digestive juices are diluted, electrolytically messed up, and in some cases water retention is worsened rather than resolved. Depending on our needs, we don’t drink too little but not too much: a liter and a half of water or two is more than enough for many of us.
