Phrases about Petaloso: images with text
Everyone likes this word. We are talking about “petalose”! The term was invented by a third grader who used it during a class test. To the question “How would you define a flower?” little Matteo replied “ Petaloso !”. The word petaloso is not part of the vocabulary of the Italian language, but Matteo’s teacher, after reading it, decided to send a letter to the Accademia della Crusca to evaluate its inclusion in the vocabulary.
However, the Academy replied:
Your word is beautiful and clear. But it is necessary that the word new is not known and used only by those who invented it, but that many people use it and many people understand it. If you can spread your word among many people and many people in Italy they will begin to write and say “How petal this flower is!” or, as you suggest, “daisies are petal flowers, while poppies are not very petal”, then petaloso will have become an Italian word, because Italians know it and use it.
No sooner said than done. The word petalose has broken through the hearts of Italians, so much so that in a few hours a real viral phenomenon was unleashed on social networks with phrases, images and jokes focused on the “petalose”.
How could we remain indifferent to so much “petalosity”?
Impossible. For this reason, even MessaggiMania wants to give its contribution to spreading the word petaloso and thus helping Matteo to have it included in the vocabulary of the Italian language.
