PCOS and pill, I’m afraid to stop, what can I do?
Good evening, I am 21 years old and I was recently diagnosed with micropolicystic ovary syndrome. The gynecologist diagnosed me with the syndrome after noting the state of my ovaries: enlarged and full of microcysts. I haven’t done any hormone dosages recently, the only time I did hormone dosages was last year and according to my dermatologist, I was healthy. From the age of development I have acne on the chest and back which, also due to the climate, can range from very mild to moderate. On the face I have never presented particular problems. I am still taking the effiprev (light anti-androgen) pill to rest my ovariesfor a period of six months, then I will suspend it. I am very afraid because I have already taken and suspended a hormonal contraceptive (nuvaring, taken from 17 to 18 years for the sole purpose of contraception … in fact I did not know I have microcystic ovaries) and I know what side effects I encounter: skin became very oily, I first had to deal with huge pimples under the skin on my jaws, acne on my chest and back (which I didn’t have during the time I was taking nuvaring) came back MUCH MORE POWERFUL and some HAIR on the buttocks. The acne situation stabilized and the skin gradually returned to normal within a few months, unfortunately I still have the hair !! (I can’t even take them off because I get folliculitis when they grow back). I would like to know if there are any methods and remedies to prevent the body from having this exaggerated reaction once I stop the contraceptive pill (I know that acne and dander may have been caused by my body suddenly starting to produce androgens ). I’m afraid that this time the hairs come out on the breast or worse on the face and never go away like the ones I still have on my buttocks! I was thinking of taking a supplement offolic acid and myo inositol and chasteberry once the pill is stopped. What do you think? Give me some hope, please 🙂 In the meantime, I cross my fingers and I hope I don’t have the same reaction I had years ago when I stopped the contraceptive. Thanks in advance.

The supplements you mentioned are very good, but they’ll give you a big hand. But remember that at your young age she would have great benefits if he tried to cut down on all baked goods (pizza, wraps, focaccia) and dairy products / cheeses. She preferred mostly raw vegetables . All this to help relieve and purify the lymphatic system, abdominal organs and intestines. Greetings Dr. Rosa Flocco
