Panettone, when to eat it so as not to get fat?

Panettone, when to eat it so as not to get fat?

And now we come to one of the most typical sweets of the Italian tradition, which from Lombardy has definitely conquered all of Italy and exists in dozens of variations: panettone.

It is the cross and delight of the holiday season. Together with pandoro, it has now become a traditional dessert and is already bought in October or November. In any family there is no shortage of panettone or pandoro at Christmas, and, especially during the holidays, there are more than one at home.

Which one to choose for the diet? And when to eat it, especially?

PANETTONE, NUTRITIONAL VALUES

Panettone is a dessert rich in carbohydrates and fats.
For this reason, we must think of it as a real course of the meal.
If we ate the first course and during the meal we did not skimp on bread, panettone, with its nice calories ranging from 350 up to 450/500 with added creams and glazes, we can barely smell its scent.
A really tiny 30 gram slice, just to honor the tradition, we can give it to ourselves.

Let’s remember that it generally has fewer calories than pandoro, having less butter and therefore less fat.
But if we want more, what to do?

TRICKS FOR EATING PANETTONE AFTER MEAL

Nutritionist and doctor Sara Farnetti gives invaluable advice in this video .
Reducing the amount of carbohydrates during the meal, for example by eating a first course tasting, avoiding bread and skipping fruit for a more varied portion of vegetables are three useful tips for those who want to eat panettone or pandoro after a meal.

In this way we can indulge in the sweet without exceeding the total glycemic load, and without compromising digestion. In fact, the more simple sugars we ingest in a mixed meal of many courses, the more difficult digestion becomes, the belly swells or we feel heavy.

Another tip is to indulge in a slice for breakfast, making pandoro or panettone the protagonists of this meal at the start of the day, together with a simple coffee, tea or herbal tea, preferably without sugar.
