Paleodiet, let’s take the best of it

doetpaloeoWe can always learn a lesson from a diet or some slimming regimes for a better and correct nutrition : in many years of diets I have understood this. Unless the diet is completely wacky, if a lot of people are talking about the health benefits of a meal plan or have effectively lost weight, evidently there will be some good in the diet as well. In short: I love to cut off diets, and without a doubt I am not a fan in particular of the so-called Paleodieta , which I find laughable in its theories and impractical in modern life. Yet, as this article also suggests, beyond the criticisms I find that the Paleo diet has indisputable advantages that should raise us doubts about how we all eat..
Here are my examples:
– no industrially processed food. The Paleo diet prohibits eating foods that are not natural. This, even if it is a big sacrifice, however, allows us to speed up the metabolism and increase energy levels with the only sacrifice of avoiding ready-made foods, processed meats and other products that we believe we cannot do without.
– a simple, free-range and often raw cuisine: ample space is given to the simple and straightforward cuisine. Grilled chicken or fish, salads and raw vegetables of all kinds, tubers often boiled or roasted with raw seasonings, such as oil.

– no to dairy products and milk and refined cereals:in reality, the Paleo diet bans practically all cereals, but if we started eating less milk and dairy products or cheeses and banned refined cereals from our table, we would get closer, not to the Paleolithics, but at least to our ancestors. Same thing for sugar.
– pay attention to good fats: great attention is paid to good fats. Avocados, oily fish, walnuts and hazelnuts, oil seeds, coconut and olive oil or eggs are typical foods of the paleo diet, but which should also be introduced into our diet and not demonized.
In short, we may find that an extra couple of fried eggs and one less plate of pasta won’t raise our cholesterol as we believe. On the contrary.
