Painless rhinoplasty: the Gottarelli method
Rhinoplasty without any pain, is it possible? Get your nose done without major bruises, without obvious bruises and tampons? Undoubtedly, one of the main concerns of those who intend to undergo a rhinoplasty operation, is that of the postoperative course: just ask friends who have undergone the operation in the past to find out about annoying bleeding , and above all painful tampons, stuck in the nostrils for a few days. Well, in some cases it is better not to ask friends. Surgery is evolving, and even tampons are no longer what they used to be, so to speak. In many cases, tampons are not needed at all and the pain is reduced to zero . An excellent example is the methodology of Paolo Gottarelli, Specialist in Plastic Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Padua (his curriculum is available online). Gottarelli’s method is based “on the maniacal and precise integrated application of 3 techniques”: one of these three techniques was developed by Gottarelli himself. You can get an idea here: Doctor Gottarelli’s turbinoplasty .
In summary, pain-free rhinoplasty starts from a methodology, global rhinoplasty, developed in 1997 (therefore not three months ago, it is a tested and documented technique), which provides for the deflation of hypertrophic turbinates in a non-traumatic way. Often, an aesthetic problem of the nose is due to the hypertrophy of the turbinates, and therefore has a strong correlation with poor breathing. In such cases, aesthetics and functionality go hand in hand. As for the elimination of pain in plastic surgery, it is due, in addition to the uselessness of tampons (Gottarelli’s turbinoplasty does not foresee them, because the nose does not bleed), to the particular method of surgery on the bones of the nasal septum. The bones of the nasal septum are no longer broken, but weakened. As Gottarelli himself explains , you have to imagine a bamboo cane: if you try to bend a bamboo cane, you will notice that instead of breaking it flexes, weakens, and bends. In practice, the bones are modified slowly and without any injury, just as we would bend the barrel without breaking it, but making them change conformation.
Said of Gottarelli (of which this site is not a sponsor, but which has the merit of clearly exposing his technique), if you are thinking about plastic surgery, there is no need to fear pain. Just make sure you go to a good specialist, and you are convinced of what you want.
