Overnight oats: the quick porridge
What are overnight oats? They are a type of no-bake porridge, which is a recipe based on oat flakes that must be prepared the night before and eaten the next day. In practice, all the ingredients are mixed raw in a glass jar or in a cup with a preferably hermetic closure the night before, the mixture is kept in the fridge overnight, then the next day you stir quickly and eat the porridge obtained. Even without cooking, oat flakes soften and absorb some liquid: moreover, the result has a different consistency than the classic porridge.
Here are two recipes for overnight oats:
CLASSIC OVERNIGH OATS RECIPE
4 tablespoons of fat-free Greek yogurt
12 tablespoons of vegetable milk of our choice (ok rice, coconut drink, almond drink, etc.)
40 gr of oat flakes
a level spoonful of chia seeds or flax seeds ground
vanilla flavor
a spoonful of honey or malt
a pinch of salt
Procedure: mix all the ingredients starting with the dry ones. Then add the honey, yogurt and milk until you get a creamy mixture. Hermetically close the container we used and put it in the fridge overnight. Open it for breakfast and enjoy it. The calories are about 300 and allow us a healthy and complete breakfast.
