On a diet online and free with facebook
They call it the facebook diet or selfie diet. It means taking advantage of this popular social network (but also Twitter or Instangram) as a free online diet tool to lose weight. While on the internet the offer of weight loss courses and online slimming programs increases, a recent survey has established that if we use social networks to lose weight, perhaps combining them with a diet app or a specific program, the results are double compared to normal slimming programs: many online diet apps already have a function that publishes the results obtained with weight loss on fb , but my advice is to take advantage of our fb profile even independently from the app , for example:
– informing our fb friends of the intentions to go on a diet
– declaring any weight changes from week to week
– posting our selfies and creating a sort of photo album before or after
There are people who have lost weight just by exploiting the sense of responsibility that gives the social network : I publicly declare that I do one thing, I show myself as I am, I get involved, and, even if I did it in the virtual world, with people who ten times out of one do not even know me, in a certain sense I made a commitment not only with myself, but also with others. I have to show what I am capable of, and how I can change.Â
On diets, an example I gave in this article concerns the Carrot Hunger app , but one of the most social is Loseit, which can be downloaded from the iTunes site. There are two apps that put you on the spot by providing you with a calorie ceiling and a food plan:successes and failures are documented on your fb page .
Sure, it’s humiliating or it risks being, but what if it’s that encouragement or shock therapy we need to finally lose weight?
