Palmer Luckey, founder of OculusVR Inc, confirmed that the Oculus Rift is still scheduled for the first quarter of 2016 despite little talk about its production or marketing.
“Production is progressing well, we are still aiming for a fantastic first quarter launch! Pre-orders will arrive soon after the end of the year, enjoy these stress-free holidays, pre-orders won’t start without some notice first! “
Oculus therefore seems to be the first (as far as virtual reality sets are concerned) to reach the market, given that Vive is postponed towards April and PlayStation VR released on an unspecified date of 2016. Samsung VR, developed with Oculus, was released this month for Samsung Galaxy phones.
