Brendan Iribe , CEO of Oculus and co-founder of the company, has announced his goodbye to Facebook . Apparently Iribe does not share Fb’s plans regarding future developments for VR devices. The announcement came following the cancellation by the Facebook team of Rift 2 . Apparently the company does not intend to further develop these technologies for use on PC, concentrating investments on autonomous viewers. An idea not shared by Brendan Iribe, who for this reason has chosen to follow a different path.Â
Also according to Iribe , the research of the Facebook team would point too low to be able to develop quality hardware and good performance. However, it appears that some plans from the Oculus CEO will be kept in mind for the future. We do not yet know what Brendan Iribe will dedicate himself to now , who said:
For me it is the first real break in more than twenty years. It’s time to recharge, reflect and be creative. I am excited for the “next chapter”.
