More sweet taste in the mouth with less sugar
I have already talked about this trick in an article in which I advised how to increase our sensitivity to sweet taste and reduce the craving for sweets by eating less sugary, but now a study proves me right. According to what is published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition , those who reduce foods with a high sugar content from their diet tend to experience the sweet taste in the mouth with less sugar in general, and therefore automatically eat less.
It’s a fact: if you get used to drinking bitter coffee or tea if you drink it frequently, for example, you will start to find the other drinks too sweet and to sugar your desserts less . If you eat less sugar in everyday life, that Sunday pastry will fill you up much more than someone who eats sweets every day. Personally, I don’t want to tell you that you don’t have to eat sugar or sweets. It is clear, however, that too many sweets are bad.
But if you have a sweet tooth, this study suggests something else. It tells you that eating sweet things often increases your hunger for sweet. As well as learning to eat less sweets reduces it. So, if while keeping at the table now eat a piece of biscuit, now take a sip of a sweet drink (no matter if sweetened with real sugar or sweetener), then eat a fruit yogurt and so on, you will never free yourself from craving for sweets. If the cakes you cook contain 150 grams of sugar, when they might go well with 100 grams and even less, you will never be free from the craving for sweets. If in your pocket or purse you have candies without sugar but with some sweetener, you will always have a constant sweet taste in your mouth. And this flavor will make sweet foods less sweet, and more in need of sugar in your opinion.
So watch out: you can be more sensitive to the sweet taste by starting to cut back on sugar. And this could help you, along with a balanced diet, to ward off the hunger for sweets.
