Mediterranean weight loss diet against obesity?
A slimming but not hypocaloric Mediterranean diet (and without counting calories) would be the only sure and safe way to fight obesity, according to experts, in a research reported in the Independent newspaper, but originally appeared in the Postgraduate Medical Journal . According to doctors at the Academy of Medical Royal Colleges in London, headed by Dr Aseem Malhotra, diets with foods full of fats and proteins that are all the rage today are not the way to fight obesity and cardiovascular disease, while dieting Mediterranean represents a certainty from this point of view, provided it is rich in good fatty acids such as those contained in oily fish, nuts and seeds, and in vitamins and minerals contained in the abundant portions of fruit and vegetables .
Now, as I always say, don’t you also notice a slight discrepancy between the Italian Mediterranean diet and what doctors call the ideal Mediterranean diet?
– oily fish and fatty fish
– olives, vegetable oils and avocados
– raw grains, seeds, nuts
– fruits, legumes and vegetables, vegetables
could very well be the Northern European diet or the Greek or Spanish Mediterranean diet.
Really, think about your diet, our diet, pecorino cheese, chili pasta and culatello? How much does our daily diet differ from the Mediterranean model described in these researches?
