Low-carb diet: Lose less fat than a low-fat one
A news that is shocking: according to a survey by scientists of the US National Institutes of Health scientists , a diet with many carbohydrates and low fat like the Mediterranean (or high carb diet) would cause you to lose more body fat than a low carb diet , that is low in carbohydrates (and high fat or low fat, depending on whether it is ketogenic or high protein / dukan type). The news is shocking, even if the sample of obese people surveyed is only 19 people. These people were divided into two groups, and for the same calories they consumed who a low-carbohydrate diet or a high-carbohydrate diet.
After some time, the scientists looked at the amount, in percentage points, of body fat lost . And, surprise of surprises, the obese patients who lost the most body fat were those who ate a diet high in carbohydrates and with less fat. The difference is huge. People who ate a 72 percent carbohydrate diet lost over 67 percent more body fat than those who a ketogenic diet, with less than thirty percent daily carbohydrates.
