Low-carb diet: Lose less fat than a low-fat one

spaghettigirl_textA news that is shocking: according to a survey by scientists of the US National Institutes of Health scientists , a diet with many carbohydrates and low fat like the Mediterranean (or high carb diet)  would cause you to lose more body fat than a low carb diet , that is low in carbohydrates (and high fat or low fat, depending on whether it is ketogenic or high protein / dukan type). The news is shocking, even if the sample of obese people surveyed is only 19 people. These people were divided into two groups, and for the same calories they consumed who a low-carbohydrate diet or a high-carbohydrate diet.
After some time, the scientists looked at the amount, in percentage points, of body fat lost . And, surprise of surprises, the obese patients who lost the most body fat were those who ate a diet high in carbohydrates and with less fat. The difference is huge. People who ate a 72 percent carbohydrate diet lost over 67 percent more body fat than those who a ketogenic diet, with less than thirty percent daily carbohydrates.

Previously, another study found that the low carb diet caused you to lose more pounds.with a deadlift of about two or three kilos less in a year than the Mediterranean-style carbohydrate diet. Now it could be said that those extra pounds lost were of fluid or lean mass, while the pounds lost by those who ate carbohydrates were of fat mass. The scientists’ explanation is that carbohydrates push the body to burn body fat stores in the event of a nutritional and caloric deficit (such as in a diet), while a ketogenic diet pushes the body to attack muscle mass. In light of these facts, we must realize that the ketogenic or low-carb style is fallacious and counterproductive for weight loss. How happy will fans of the Paleo diet or ketogenic diets be?
