Lose weight without counting calories
I let myself be tempted by this article that appeared in the Huffington post to submit for the umpteenth time the problem that more than anything else affects our life, does not let us sleep at night, is our first thought when we get up and makes the first piece of cake linger in the throat: BUT DO CALORIES MATTER?
Yes No? Perhaps? Half and half? Do we want to commit to a definitive answer or will we continue to grope in the dark? I mean, how long do they have to bother with the calorie story? For example, I think that they count, or rather: that they are not an absolute parameter but realistic enough to be able to understand how much and how to eat. I am sure that in the optimal of a correct diet we can not only consider the calories, and that eating a thousand calories of French fries is different than eating a thousand calories of fruit and vegetables. Everything we eat triggers a reaction that involves our chemistry, our hormones, our metabolism.Â
So here’s WHAT to do to lose weight without counting calories too much.
– Foods that cause metabolic syndrome are those containing sugar. You would lose weight by eating without sugar (and without artificial sweeteners).
– Foods that tend to increase insulin and promote fat formation are those with a high glycemic index. Here is the list. Avoid them!
– Try to have a rough idea, even if not precise, of the calories: you will not go crazy, but at least you will avoid bingeing on coconut milk convinced that it is only milk!
– Remember that fats are important even if they are very caloric: try to increase the volume of dishes with low-sugar vegetables and fruit in order not to cut calories on fat!
– Exercise, but avoid undernourishing. Your body survives even on little food. You, on the other hand, get stressed and don’t lose weight.
