Lose weight on the go (or stay fit)
Like every year, everything is done to achieve a healthy weight that we can’t wait to lose on vacation, thinking that we will get back in line from September.
Apart from that alternating diets with periods of laxity is not a great idea for our body, especially if we put those 4-5 or even 8 kilos more or less on the plate (losing weight and regaining weight continuously for health is worse than regaining weight period), frustrating all the dietary efforts made so far and then dropping back is stressful, and makes it increasingly difficult for us to lose weight again. But on the other hand it is right to enjoy the journey and the holiday , eat something new, feel free to transgress at least when it would be more right to do so, between conviviality and serenity.
Is it possible to find a middle ground, even managing to lose weight while traveling or in any case not gaining weight?
Here is what I recommend you do.
HOW TO LOSE YOURSELF WHILE TRAVELING OR STAY IN SHAPE ON HOLIDAY
1) Drink plenty of water in small sips throughout the day , especially if you will be walking, but also if you are at the seaside.
2) If the hotel offers a rich breakfast, do it but avoid eating only sweets: also make room for protein foods, for example eggs or yogurt. If you want to transgress, take a portion of the dessert that interests you the most, proposing to partners or friends to share the others.
3) If you had a big breakfast, don’t skip lunch anyway: instead try to eat something fresh like a plate of mixed salad or bet on what the territory offers you light and seasonal. If you are in Greece, a Greek salad for lunch or some Greek yogurt with honey and nuts. In big cities, vegan or alternative restaurants are numerous. If you are by the sea, some watermelon and a mix of dried fruit. At dinner, share the typical dishes, especially if they have little summer: if you are in Austria, forget about sausages and cutlets, eat a little boiled meat with vegetables on the side or a normal steak. If you are at the lake, yes to fish.
Skip the appetizers as much as possible instead.
