Lose weight like a man

perdipesouominiFor genetic, chemical and biological reasons, such as a different hormonal profile, a lower percentage of body fat mass (women have breasts and hips as well as other rounder parts than men) and a lower metabolism that is almost “programmed” to take in more fat, women and men are not equal in weight loss . Men have a higher and more efficient metabolism: their muscle mass develops better than that of women, also thanks to the different hormonal profile. As a result, men tend to lose weight more easily than women . Of many couples who have tried to lose weight, men have always shed more pounds than their partners, which certainly did not help them in terms of enthusiasm and self-esteem.But gender makes a difference , and this is a fact, even with the same diet. However, some studies have shown that women, compared to men, are penalized by two environmental factors that have nothing to do with either the type of diet or the fact that they are genetically and physiologically different from males.
If women learned to correct these two factors, they would lose weight much easier. Let’s see what they are:

1) EXCESSIVE CONDITIONING ON FOOD (CALORIES, FATS, SUGARS):women tend to more severe food restrictions than men, who instead have a more natural and unimpeded approach to food. This means that for men how and how much to eat is not a constant concern as in women. Women tend to cut calories easier, diet more, worry excessively (and often incorrectly) about what’s on their plate. Women experiment with various diets, for example, while men just restrict portions and exercise more. In this case, needless to say, the “take it easy” logic wins. We eat to live, we don’t live to eat. Dietary stress, constant dieting and excessive calorie restrictions mean that the female metabolism slows down more and more and it becomes more and more difficult for a woman to achieve a stable weight.
2) LOW ATTENTION TO BODY COMPOSITION : men do not pay attention to the scales when they do physical activity. Women do. They are very careful not to put on too much muscle mass, often nullifying the potential that a targeted physical exercise could do on their body fat. In short:for a woman it is much more important to see the scales go down than to see a muscularly more harmonious and toned body, a body that, even with a few extra pounds due to lean mass, would tend to burn more and promote a healthy weight. In short: the lack of attention of women to body composition and to building muscles (often choosing simple, exhausting and continuous aerobic activities in the gym) is another own goal in weight loss.
