Lose weight by drinking… the cooking water
Quite unusual news comes from Japan, where the Japanese  National Agriculture and Food Research Organization reportedly conducted a study on mice that explains how you can lose weight by drinking the cooking water of sweet potatoes. Potatoes that should be boiled without peel in water, and would release a particular peptide in it that would act on appetite control, reducing bad cholesterol and improving lipid metabolism in front of a high-fat diet.
How come you can lose weight by drinking the cooking water and not eating sweet potatoes directly? Apparently, the SPP peptide is obtained from the proteins of sweet potatoes in the water solution: when the potatoes release starch, then in combination with water this substance would be obtained, the researchers explained.
Who, despite having conducted the study on mice, said they had really interesting and unexpected results. So, if you consume sweet potatoes, don’t throw away the cooking water, but try to drink it!
