Kefir water or Kefir milk: how fermented milk makes you lose weight
For years I have been drinking Kefir milk , sometimes Kefir water, but above all milk: in some supermarkets, including chain stores, I could find it easily, and I consider it an excellent source of enzymes and a very valid probiotic . Alternatively, I made extensive use of labne or laban, Arabic fermented milk, or Indian lassi. If you eat a lot of fruit and vegetables and follow a healthy lifestyle, you probably don’t need to get a probiotic every day, for the simple reason that high amounts of fruit and vegetables help balance our bacterial flora, but I assure you that foods probiotics are great for staying healthy, improving the beauty of skin and hair, improving bowel regularity, etc. And also improve metabolism. In short, the health of our intestinal flora is the key to feeling good, but it is also the key to staying lean. In fact, it has been shown that some bacteria of the intestinal flora contribute to weight loss and a faster metabolism, as shown by this study .
Here, Kefir water or milk are the ideal probiotic to stay healthy : kefir is in fact a type of milk ferment that is grown in the Caucasus (therefore it contains lactose), where it has been consumed regularly for millennia. This ferment, left in whole milk (of any type) or in water (generally with a marginal percentage of sugar), produces kefir milk or water ofKefir: a sparkling, acidic liquid with a very low alcohol content. For those who do not want to buy the enzymes, Kefir water and milk are on the market ready, however the type of industrial kefir is different from what you can buy and make at home. By now, the home solution is the healthiest and most convenient one, since many organic shops sell Kefir grains.
For those interested, I refer you to this Italian company that sells Kefir online , also in a ready-made milk and water version.
