Today I already wrote an article on Kayla Itsines’ diet, here, so I said to myself: why not write an article on this protein shake of hers too? Kayla drinks it as a snack, but it’s perfect as a replacement meal for those looking to lose weight – it’s packed with high-availability protein and also contains little fruit to make it sweeter and creamier. Let’s see the recipe!

KAYLA ITSINES PROTEIN SMOKE
160 gr of fresh or frozen strawberries (alternatively: cherries, raspberries, blueberries)
250 ml of skimmed milk
150 gr of skimmed yogurt (ok fage 0% Greek yogurt or non-Greek yogurt, natural with 0% fat , it depends on how creamy you want it)
1 scoop of vanilla flavored whey protein like these in the link below (or a brand of your choice).

Procedure: blend the ingredients well. If you are using frozen strawberries, keep them out of the fridge about ten minutes beforehand. With frozen fruit the result will be more frothy.
The dose is for one person (we are talking about two glasses or a huge glass, since it is over half a liter of smoothie), the calories are about 300 with zero fat or almost, and about 45-50 grams of protein. This is why I said that it is perfect as a substitute meal, perhaps for dinner.
