Is white sugar a poison?

Is white sugar a poison?

Today during the usual press review I came across this article: a group of nutritionists from Dubai lists the harm of sugar, claiming that white sugar is a poison.
The good thing is that raw sugar is considered the same as white sugar , that is, equally poor in those nutrients (vitamins and minerals) that are originally found in sugar cane. So far nothing to contest.
A fruit or a fruit juice from concentrate with added sugars will never be the same. But if a person is on a diet that includes fruits, vegetables and natural foods (think potatoes) or nuts, or oil seeds, in essence, he is already taking what he needs in terms of vitamins and trace elements and can afford a little sugar every much.

Clear, in moderation. I do not mean to advertise in favor of sugar, but I have realized that some things argued against sugar are patently false, and have been proven wrong.
I indicate two of them, those that are described in the article.

1) The simple sugars contained in refined sugars are worse than those contained in natural sugars , because the sources of natural sugars also have vitamins and mineral salts that make them harmful: instead NO, because they chemically act in the same way. Do the glucose and fructose contained in fruit or the glucose and fructose of white sugar have different effects? Experts contradict each other. Here a scientist says that well, sugar is sugar, and that perhaps honey may be preferred because, as it contains other elements, it has less sugar in the end
But the fact is, as he says , sugar is sugar. Apart from Dr. Lustig’s exaggerations, no one could explain how vitamins or minerals make sugar “less” sugar. And in fact a study commissioned by the honey industry among others (with the hypothesis of establishing whether honey was actually better than glucose-fructose syrup and white sugar) has disproved this simplification. Taking two natural sugars and glucose-fructose syrup, the participants obtained the same harmful effects on health following one of them. Diabetes and hypercholesterolemia, obesity. Do you eat too much sugar? Whether it’s honey or white sugar, you gain equal weight and have the same health problems ( source ).
But let’s get to the second hoax.
