Is there a model diet?
Is there a model diet? A diet that all models follow and allows them to be so thin? And, if the models are on a diet, if we were on a diet like them would we become equally thin? And again: do the models (who are always on a diet) have periods? This cauldron of questions concerns you even if it seems to you that they are a heap of nonsense. What do you care about the model’s diet, if there is such a diet? In fact, many people are convinced that the models to be such are constantly on a diet. This is true only in part and not for all. I’ll explain better. Most of the models are already thin and wiry, that is they are often tall and thin: often they are girls who have been noticed on the street by fashion agents or girls who turn to fashion agencies. But none of them “become a model” by losing 15 or 20 kilos to parade on a catwalk. Certainly though, after the initial interest they are asked to lose weight. Not for everyone, but it happens.
Here already begins the first big difference: alongside models who say they have “always been thin”, there are certainly girls who make sacrifices, going from their natural thinness to extreme thinness to fall within the aesthetic parameters of fashion houses. This fact was denounced by a model, who runs an agency that takes care of the rights of those who do this job (I’m talking about it here). And as if that weren’t enough, many wispy girls who work as models have made it known that they have been discarded by fashion houses, because, despite the evident underweight, they were still considered chubby, like this girl here , and the outlet of this model. .
